Quick answers
Because makesends is built for you, the everyday person and the freelancer who needs an affordable option for everyday tasks. Agencies and small teams are very welcome on gowiththeflow or twowayroad, but we're not chasing boardrooms (for now).
Free (dropngo) allowances reset on the 1st of every calendar month, and because usage is tracked against your account, sending from several devices draws on one shared total. Paid plans reset on your personal sign-up anniversary date each month. So if you subscribed on the 14th, you refresh on the 14th.
Yes. Both paid plans are monthly-only subscriptions with no lock-in. Cancel in your dashboard and you keep your features until the end of the paid period.
The download link stops working and the files are permanently deleted from our storage. We're a transfer service, not an archive. Short lives for links keep things secure (and our carbon footprint honest).
Every transfer, free or paid, rides on the same protected rails, with automatic expiry and permanent deletion on schedule, and full GDPR compliance. See Features and our Privacy Notice for details.

Terms of Service
1. Who we are and what this is
1.1 makesends ("makesends", "we", "us", "our") provides an online file transfer service that lets you upload digital files and share them with recipients through download links, email delivery or key-code transfer (the "Service"). The Service is available on makesends.com and, from 2027, through the makesends app.
1.2 makesends is a trading name of Vinousbosch Technologies Pty Ltd (registration number 2021/955999/07, South Africa). When you use the Service, your contract for the Service is with Vinousbosch Technologies Pty Ltd.
1.3 By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you keep using the Service after an update to these Terms takes effect, you accept the updated version. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
2.1 The Service temporarily stores your files so your chosen recipients can download them. Files are kept only for the availability period of your plan and settings: 48 hours on dropngo, up to 15 days on gowiththeflow and up to 30 days on twowayroad.
2.2 After expiry, files and links are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. makesends is a transfer service, not a backup or archive service, so always keep your own copies.
3. Accounts and plans
3.1 dropngo (free). A free account is required. Free allowances of 2GB per transfer and 10GB per calendar month are tracked against your account and reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
3.2 gowiththeflow and twowayroad (paid). Paid plans require an account and a monthly subscription under section 4. Allowances reset monthly on your sign-up anniversary date. Plan features and limits are set out on our Pricing page.
3.3 You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher, to buy a paid plan.
3.4 You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Sessions stay signed in for up to 30 days on trusted devices. You can sign out at any time.
3.5 One person or business may hold one free account. Creating several free accounts to get around free allowances is a breach of these Terms.
4. Subscriptions, prices and payment
4.1 Merchant of Record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries relating to payment and handles returns. Depending on where you are, you buy from Paddle.com Market Limited, Paddle.com Inc. or Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms and the Paddle Refund Policy.
4.2 Billing frequency. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, billed in advance in pounds sterling (GBP). Your first payment is taken when you subscribe, and that date becomes your billing date each month. If a month has no matching date, you are billed on its last day.
4.3 Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month at the price then in force until you cancel under section 5. Paddle emails you a receipt for each payment.
4.4 Taxes. Paddle calculates and collects any VAT, GST or sales tax that applies where you live. The checkout shows the total amount, including tax, before you pay. Businesses that are registered for tax in the country of purchase may ask Paddle for a refund of tax charged, within 60 days of the payment date, under the Paddle Buyer Terms.
4.5 Price changes. We may change our prices. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
4.6 Launch offer. Customers who subscribe to twowayroad before 30 June 2027 pay £6.20 a month until 31 December 2027. The standard twowayroad price of £12.50 a month applies from 1 January 2028. We will email you before your first payment at the standard price.
4.7 Upgrades and downgrades. An upgrade starts immediately and Paddle charges a prorated amount for the rest of your current billing period, shown at checkout before you confirm. A downgrade starts on your next billing date. Your billing date does not change.
4.8 Failed payments. If a payment fails, Paddle will notify you and retry it. If no payment succeeds within the retry period, your subscription is cancelled and your account moves to dropngo. You remain liable for any amount that was due.
4.9 App purchases. Subscriptions started in the makesends app are completed on a Paddle web checkout and are covered by these Terms in the same way as website purchases. They are not sold, billed, managed or refunded by Apple, Google or any other app store.
5. Cancellation and refunds
5.1 Free plan. You may delete a dropngo account at any time from your dashboard. There is nothing to cancel or refund.
5.2 Cancelling a paid plan. You may cancel at any time from Plan & billing in your dashboard, through the link in any Paddle receipt email or at paddle.net. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep full access until then.
5.3 14-day money-back guarantee. If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time, you may ask for a full refund of your first payment within 14 days of the payment date, for any reason. Ask at paddle.net or email support@makesends.com.
5.4 Renewal payments. Monthly renewal payments are not refundable, except under sections 5.5 to 5.7 or where the law requires.
5.5 Your statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights. These include the right of consumers in the UK, EU, EEA and Switzerland to withdraw from a contract within 14 days, and the cooling-off right of South African consumers under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Where local law gives you more, that applies.
5.6 Billing errors. Verified billing errors and duplicate charges are refunded in full.
5.7 Service failure. If the Service fails in a material way that we cannot fix within a reasonable time, you will be refunded in line with applicable consumer protection law.
5.8 Refusals. We or Paddle may refuse a refund where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse or other manipulative behaviour, including repeatedly subscribing and requesting refunds.
5.9 Effect of a refund. Paddle issues refunds to the original payment method where possible. When a subscription payment is refunded, the subscription ends and your account moves to dropngo. Transfers already sent keep their original expiry date.
5.10 Chargebacks. Please contact us or Paddle before raising a payment dispute with your bank. Paid features may be paused while a dispute is reviewed. This does not limit your legal right to dispute a charge.
5.11 Our Refund Policy explains this section in more detail and forms part of these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
6.1 You must not use the Service to upload, store or share content that infringes intellectual property rights, contains malware, viruses or malicious code, is unlawful, defamatory or harassing, constitutes child sexual abuse material or terrorist content, or breaks any applicable export-control, sanctions or data protection law.
6.2 You must not misuse the Service. That includes trying to access other users’ transfers or accounts, getting around plan limits or security controls, overloading or disrupting our systems, reverse engineering the Service except where the law allows it, or reselling the Service without our written permission.
6.3 We may remove content and suspend accounts that we reasonably believe break this section, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities.
7. Your content
7.1 You keep all rights to the files you transfer. You give us only the limited licence needed to receive, store, transmit and deliver your files to your chosen recipients and to operate the Service, including creating temporary technical copies and previews.
7.2 We do not access, use, sell or train models on the contents of your transfers.
8. Our intellectual property
8.1 The Service, including its software, design, the makesends name, logos and five-stripe artwork, belongs to Vinousbosch Technologies Pty Ltd or its licensors.
8.2 We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify or use our brand or software except as these Terms allow.
9. Service availability and changes
9.1 We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
9.2 We may change features, set reasonable technical limits, or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. Where we discontinue a paid plan, we will refund any payment for a period you can no longer use. We will tell you about planned maintenance where practicable.
10. Suspension and termination
10.1 You may stop using the Service, cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time.
10.2 We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, break section 6, use the Service fraudulently, raise a chargeback that appears to be abusive, fail to pay amounts due, or if the law requires us to. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
10.3 When your account ends, active transfers are deleted after the shorter of their remaining availability period or 28 days.
11. Liability
11.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, makesends is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data caused by expired transfers that were not downloaded in time.
11.2 Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if you use the free plan.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Privacy
12.1 Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data. Paddle handles payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.
13. General
13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or in their country of residence.
13.2 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
13.3 We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes at least 30 days in advance through the Service or by email.
13.4 You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to another company in our group or to a buyer of the Service, and this will not reduce your rights.
14. Contact
14.1 Questions about the Service or these Terms: support@makesends.com. Questions about a payment, receipt or refund can also go to Paddle at paddle.net.
Privacy Notice
1. Who is responsible
makesends is a trading name of Vinousbosch Technologies Pty Ltd (registration number 2021/955999/07, South Africa). Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR we are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Under the South African Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) we are the responsible party. You can reach our designated Information Officer at support@makesends.com.
When you buy a paid plan, Paddle also processes your personal data as an independent controller. Section 4 explains how.
2. What we collect
- Transfer data. The files you upload, which we store only for the applicable availability period. Sender and recipient email addresses, and transfer metadata such as file names, sizes, timestamps, download events and expiry settings.
- Account data. Your name, email address, hashed password, plan, branding assets you upload, and your contacts directory.
- Billing data we receive from Paddle. Your subscription and payment status, plan, billing country, transaction references, and limited card details such as card type and last four digits. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Usage and security data. IP address, device and browser information, and security event logs, used for fraud prevention and to protect the Service. Usage allowances are tracked against your account.
3. Why we process it (lawful bases)
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR and the POPIA conditions for lawful processing:
- Performance of a contract (GDPR Art 6(1)(b), POPIA s 11(1)(b)). Delivering your transfers, running your account, tracking your plan allowances and managing your subscription.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art 6(1)(f), POPIA s 11(1)(d)). Securing the Service, preventing abuse and refund fraud, and improving the product using aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- Legal obligation (GDPR Art 6(1)(c), POPIA s 11(1)(c)). Keeping tax and accounting records, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
- Consent (GDPR Art 6(1)(a), POPIA s 11(1)(a)). Optional marketing emails and optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time with one click.
4. Payments, Paddle and the makesends app
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Depending on where you are, you buy from Paddle.com Market Limited, Paddle.com Inc. or Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd.
When you check out, you give your payment details directly to Paddle. Paddle collects your name, email address, billing address, payment details, IP address and purchase history so it can take payment, calculate and pay tax, prevent fraud, carry out sanctions screening and meet its legal duties. Paddle does this as an independent controller under the Paddle Privacy Notice, not on our instructions.
We share your email address, account reference and chosen plan with Paddle so it can match your payment to your makesends account. Paddle shares the billing data listed in section 2 with us.
From 2027, subscriptions started in the makesends app are completed on the same Paddle web checkout. Apple, Google and other app stores do not receive your payment details for makesends subscriptions. If you download the app, the app store you use handles your download data under its own privacy policy.
5. Retention
- Transferred files are automatically and permanently deleted when the link expires, after 48 hours to 30 days depending on your plan and settings.
- Transfer metadata is kept for up to 12 months for security and support.
- Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account closure.
- Billing and subscription records are kept for as long as accounting, tax and company law require, which is generally up to 7 years after the transaction.
- Paddle keeps its own records for the periods set out in its privacy notice.
6. Sharing and processors
We use vetted processors under data processing agreements, including our hosting and storage provider and our email delivery provider. They act only on our instructions.
Paddle receives the data described in section 4 as an independent controller, not as our processor. We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.
6a. Cross-border transfers
We process personal data on infrastructure in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (the UK IDTA or EU SCCs).
Paddle operates internationally and may transfer your payment data to other countries, including the United States. Paddle relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the UK and EEA, as described in its privacy notice.
Under POPIA section 72, personal information from South Africa may be transferred to a country that provides an adequate level of protection, or where the transfer is necessary to perform our contract with you. By using the Service, South African data subjects acknowledge that their personal information will be processed outside South Africa under these safeguards.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to support@makesends.com and we will respond within one month. You can complain to your supervisory authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Under POPIA, South African data subjects can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of their personal information, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za. We respond to verified POPIA requests within 30 days.
For data Paddle controls, such as your card details and payment history, contact Paddle at privacy@paddle.com or through preferences.paddle.com. If you send us a request that covers Paddle’s data, we will tell you and help you reach Paddle.
8. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sessions and security, and optional analytics and marketing cookies only with your consent through our cookie banner. Our Cookie Notice lists them, and you can change your choices at any time in Cookie settings.
Paddle’s checkout runs Paddle’s own scripts and may set cookies needed to process your payment and prevent fraud. These are covered by Paddle’s privacy notice.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including secure authentication, access controls and encrypted connections. Card payments are handled by Paddle, a PCI DSS compliant payment provider. You can ask for details of specific measures at support@makesends.com.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this notice when our processing changes and tell you about material changes through the Service or by email. Questions go to our Information Officer at support@makesends.com.
