Because makesends is built for you, the everyday person and the freelancer who needs an affordable option for everyday tasks. Agencies and small teams are very welcome on gowiththeflow or twowayroad, but we're not chasing boardrooms (for now).
Free (dropngo) allowances reset on the 1st of every calendar month, and because usage is tracked against your account, sending from several devices draws on one shared total. Paid plans reset on your personal sign-up anniversary date each month. So if you subscribed on the 14th, you refresh on the 14th.
Yes. Both paid plans are monthly-only subscriptions with no lock-in. Cancel in your dashboard and you keep your features until the end of the paid period.
The download link stops working and the files are permanently deleted from our storage. We're a transfer service, not an archive. Short lives for links keep things secure (and our carbon footprint honest).

Terms of Service
1. Who we are & what this is
makesends ("makesends", "we", "us") provides an online file transfer service that lets you upload digital files and share them with recipients via download links, email delivery or key-code transfer (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
makesends is operated by The Disegno Collective Hub Pty Ltd (reg no. 2015/392236/07), 35 Lieberheim, Paradyskloof, Stellenbosch, South Africa 7600.
2. The Service
The Service temporarily stores your files so your chosen recipients can download them. Files are retained only for the availability period applicable to your plan (48 hours on dropngo, 15 days on gowiththeflow and 30 days on twowayroad). After expiry, files and links are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. makesends is a transfer service, not a backup or archival service, so always keep your own copies.
3. Accounts & plans
- dropngo (free): a free account is required. Free allowances (2GB per transfer, 10GB per calendar month) are tracked against your account and reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
- gowiththeflow & twowayroad (paid): require an account. Allowances reset monthly on your sign-up anniversary date. Subscriptions are billed monthly in GBP and may be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial months.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Sessions remain signed in for up to 30 days on trusted devices; you may sign out at any time.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to upload, store or share content that: infringes intellectual property rights; contains malware, viruses or malicious code; is unlawful, defamatory, or harassing; constitutes child sexual abuse material or terrorist content; or violates any applicable export-control, sanctions or data-protection law. We may suspend or remove content and accounts that we reasonably believe breach these Terms, and will cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the files you transfer. You grant us only the limited licence required to receive, store, transmit and deliver your files to your chosen recipients and to operate the Service (including creating transient technical copies and previews). We do not access, use, sell or train models on the contents of your transfers.
6. Service availability & changes
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify features, impose reasonable technical limits, or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. Planned maintenance will be communicated where practicable.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, makesends will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data resulting from expired transfers you failed to download in time. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £50 for free-tier users). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service or cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms. On termination, active transfers are deleted after the shorter of their remaining availability period or 28 days.
9. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in advance via the Service or email.

Privacy Notice
1. Who is responsible
makesends is operated by The Disegno Collective Hub Pty Ltd (reg no. 2015/392236/07), 35 Lieberheim, Paradyskloof, Stellenbosch, South Africa 7600. Under the UK/EU GDPR we are the data controller; under the South African Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) we are the responsible party. 2. What we collect
- Transfer data: the files you upload (stored on our infrastructure only for the applicable availability period), sender and recipient email addresses, transfer metadata (file names, sizes, timestamps, download events, expiry settings).
- Account data: name, email, hashed password, plan and billing details (payments handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record and PCI-DSS compliant payment processor — we never store full card numbers), branding assets you upload, and your contacts directory.
- Usage & security data: IP address, device/browser information, and security event logs used for fraud prevention and service protection. Usage allowances are tracked against your account.
3. Why we process it (lawful bases)
Under the UK/EU GDPR and the POPIA conditions for lawful processing:
- Performance of a contract (GDPR Art 6(1)(b) / POPIA s 11(1)(b)): delivering your transfers, operating your account, tracking your plan allowances.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art 6(1)(f) / POPIA s 11(1)(d)): securing the Service, preventing abuse, improving the product using aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- Legal obligation (GDPR Art 6(1)(c) / POPIA s 11(1)(c)): tax and accounting records, responses to lawful authority requests.
- Consent (GDPR Art 6(1)(a) / POPIA s 11(1)(a)): optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time with one click.
4. Retention
Transferred files are automatically and permanently deleted at link expiry (48 hours to 30 days depending on plan and settings). Transfer metadata is kept for up to 12 months for security and support. Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account closure, except where law requires longer retention.
5. Sharing & processors
We use vetted processors under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements, including our hosting and storage provider, our email delivery provider, and Paddle.com Market Ltd (our Merchant of Record for payment processing). We do not sell personal data.
5a. Cross-border transfers
Personal data is processed on infrastructure located in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. International transfers of personal data outside the UK/EEA are protected by adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (UK IDTA / EU SCCs) where applicable. Under POPIA section 72, personal data originating in South Africa may be transferred to a jurisdiction that provides an adequate level of protection, or where the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and us. By using the Service, South African data subjects acknowledge that their personal information will be processed outside of South Africa in accordance with these safeguards.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR/UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to support@makesends.com and we respond within one month. You may complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
Under POPIA, South African data subjects have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information; to object to processing; and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za. We respond to verified POPIA requests within 30 days.

We use strictly necessary cookies for sessions and security, and optional analytics cookies subject to your consent via the cookie banner. See the cookie settings in your dashboard to change preferences at any time.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including secure authentication, access controls, and encrypted connections.
